Magen and Rick’s journey to founding Atomic Storage Group began long before the company itself—the two first crossed paths in Las Vegas, where Rick was speaking at an industry event. Afterward, Magen introduced herself, and their conversation sparked an immediate friendship.

For years, Magen focused on managing the storage assets she owned. One day in Louisiana, while sitting on a curb after chasing a raccoon through a storage facility, she realized it was time to interview management companies to help her streamline operations. However, after meeting with several prominent firms, she discovered a glaring issue: most couldn’t provide clear, straightforward answers to her questions—particularly about fee structures. More importantly, she felt constrained by their one-size-fits-all approach. Her facilities had unique needs that required customized solutions, not an algorithmic mold.

A few months later, Magen reached out to Rick with an idea. Together, they envisioned a management company built differently—a company that operated the way they would want if they were the client. They wanted to prioritize open communication, simple and transparent fees, practical solutions, and the flexibility to manage sites based on their individual needs.

From the start, Magen and Rick were hands-on. In the early years of Atomic Storage Group, it wasn’t uncommon to see them on the ground responding to hurricanes, fires, and other emergencies. By rolling up their sleeves and tackling challenges head-on, they built a reputation for being the company that gets things done.
